I have decided to become a Guardian Ad Litem! Aint that great! I have printed the application and will fill it out promptly. I will share with you the process in case you're wondering (as I go along). This is thanks to Lisa that I've decided this. Hopefully I will be able to make a difference in the lives of children. BE PROUD OF ME! I AM IN DIRE NEED OF PATS IN THE BACK!

Katie subsequently pats the Sourpatch Lady on the back and proceeds to ask "Whatsa Guardian Ad Litem?!"

  2. sourpatchbaby // 1:17 PM

And she answers: The Florida Guardian ad Litem Program is a partnership of community advocates and professional staff providing a powerful voice on behalf of Florida's abused and neglected children.

A Guardian ad Litem is a volunteer appointed by the court to protect the rights and advocate the best interests of a child involved in a court proceeding. The volunteer Guardian ad Litem makes independent recommendations to the court by focusing on the needs of each child. The Guardian ad Litem advocates for the best interests of the child they represent.

It seems to be the same thing as a CASA. I guess there's different names for them.
